Profile:
A qualified Marine Biologist, Rahul has been working as a scuba diving instructor for the last thirteen years, teaching extensively across India and South East Asia. While his work has not directly engaged the world of academia, he has facilitated marine research and monitoring programs, collaborated with various national and international researchers, research institutes and NGOs.
He believes that his field experience, combined with his practical understanding and knowledge of the marine environment, puts him in a unique position where his insight on work specific to scientific and research diving has led him to the position of Dakshin’s Marine Field ResearchSupervisor at the Andaman Nicobar Environment Team (ANET) research base.
Combining scientific research with visual documentation work, he is developing a skillset which, while contributing to his own body of work, will hopefully go on to become a valuable resource to the Indian scientific community at large.
