Profile: Alphonso has a deep research and teaching interest in biodiversity law and policy. Currently, as a research affiliate of Dakshin, she is exploring the potential of Biological Diversity Act and the Peoples Biodiversity Register to facilitate fishing communities engagement with decentralised marine biodiversity governance. She has published various works in Economic and Political Weekly, Down to Earth, Livelaw and SpicyIP. She previously worked with the Indian National Biodiversity Authority, Natural Justice and Dakshin Foundation. She was a teaching faculty at the Tamil Nadu National Law University.
