Profile: Ithihaas hails from a coastal city – Chennai and has had many opportunities to engage with diverse local communities. He is interested in the academic fields of cultural and political economy with a special interest in the newly evolving heterodox school of thought within economics. In order to comprehend persistent development challenges at the grassroots better, he pursued his idea to live and work directly with communities after earning his Master’s in Economics. He was awarded the SBI Youth for India fellowship in 2021 where he was assigned to a tribal hamlet in Madhya Pradesh. During this fellowship, he assisted 15 farmers in converting to organic farming by promoting the use of vermicomposting techniques which helped him gain a grounded understanding of livelihood interventions. He is interested in sports like surfing, boxing, volleyball, and football. He has represented his college at university tournaments for football. He enjoys beatboxing and has performed on stage numerous times.

At Dakshin, he is a Senior Programme Assistant with the Livelihoods sub-programme, and works on the Recycling and Well-being project in the Palk bay area of Tamil Nadu.
