Profile: My association with Dakshin started with my dissertation work on sea turtles. Hailing from the landlocked state of Chhattisgarh, my inclination towards marine life began only during bachelor’s days in Chennai. For my dissertation work, I compared the foraging pattern of olive ridley sea turtles in Chennai and Rushikulya using stable isotopes. I also looked upon the beach characteristics and the presence of microplastic in beach sediments of Rushikulya. As a part of Dakshin, I am associated with the long-term monitoring project of sea turtles at the Rushikulya mass nesting rookery, Odisha and also continuing the work on observing the pattern of forging in olive ridley sea turtles on the eastern coast of India.
