Qualifications: MSc. Geology, Annamalai University, Chidambaram (2019)
I am trained as a geologist. However, I understood my subject not only from my syllabus or the laboratory, but observing the environmental issues which arose in Tamil Nadu. Prior to joining Dakshin, I volunteered at “POOVULAGIN NANBARGAL” an organisation which has been raising their voice against environmental problems for over 30 years in Tamil Nadu. I enjoy undertaking research and connect easily with people and I enjoy seeing the world from their perspective.
I would like to see the connections between geology and cultural significance, since geological aspects have a huge role in influencing society. In the past I have worked as a sub-editor in a news portal, which taught me the basic ethics of journalism. I also undertake some translation for the “PEOPLE ARCHIVE of RURAL INDIA”. I am deeply interested in documentary film-making and photography.
