Qualifications: M.Sc. Environmental Sustainability, The University of Edinburgh, UK
Profile: I graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a Masters in Environmental Sustainability in 2018. Before this, I was almost certain that I would go on to pursue a career in environmental policy-making – a plan I had mapped out at least a decade before. However, over the course of my education, my approach to environmentalism evolved and I became increasingly drawn to bottom-up, grassroots action that places communities and their needs at the centre of positive environmental change. I am primarily interested in exploring the potential for environmental education, community engagement and deliberative democracy to improve environmental planning and governance in India.
As a part of the fundraising team at Dakshin, I am involved with institutional fundraising, developing proposals, tracking donors, and conducting prospect research. I am also currently carrying out research that combines Dakshin’s programmatic priorities with my fundraising work.
