Profile: Srotoswini is an aspiring development professional interested in transdisciplinary research, advocacy, policy analysis, and program design. She completed her Graduation, Post-Graduation, and M.Phil in Comparative Literature from Jadavpur University focusing primarily on South Asian Literature and Culture. She worked for almost 7 years as an academic editor in the publishing industry and then embarked on her second Master’s in Development at Azim Premji University, Bangalore. She is interested in the political ecology of commons, community wellbeing and sustainable living, conservation biology, science, society and technology, and governance.

She joined the Marine Flagships Program at Dakshin in 2022 as the Senior Outreach Coordinator. Her current work involves creating and executing a vision for communications and outreach via the website and social media platforms and networks. This involves the content management of the program as well. Furthermore, she oversees and assists with the coordination and execution of online events including talks, seminars, workshops, etc. She is enthralled to join this program since it gives her the opportunity to liaise with local communities, administrative units, and conservation groups all along the coast of India and address the issues concerning coastal development vis-a-vis conservation of some of the iconic marine species.
