Profile: Thisam is interested in ground-level studies, interacting with communities and learning things from different perspectives. She learned about the nuances of the process of development and its implications in her Masters in Development Studies from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) Mumbai which she completed in 2021. Her internship experiences at Kudumbahsree NRO, the World Institute of Sustainable Energy (WISE), and The Red Cycle allowed her to explore more deeply her interests in community development, qualitative research, climate governance, and tribal studies.

Before joining Dakshin, Thisam worked at Center for Public Policy Research (CPPR) as Project Assistant from where she developed an interest in the process of policymaking and its implementation. She volunteers at MinD (Mobility in Dystrophy) Trust. She is keen on areas of Gender, social exclusion, and Women and development.
